Juan Bezerra’s first-half strike gave Zamalek a 1-0 away win over CR Belouizdad in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg.
The Egyptians absorbed heavy pressure, survived two strikes against the woodwork and a VAR-disallowed goal, with goalkeeper Mahdi Suleiman making a late save to secure the result.
It was Zamalek’s first victory over Belouizdad and only their second on Algerian soil in continental play.
The Cairo return leg on 17 April will decide who advances to the final, with Zamalek holding the narrow advantage.
