St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende will face Kyaddondo SS in the final of the USSSA Wakiso Zone qualifiers on Tuesday, April 14, with both sides chasing top honours and momentum ahead of the national championships.
The final, scheduled for 3:00 PM, caps a competitive qualifying campaign that has also determined Wakiso’s representatives for the national boys football championship later this year.
Kyaddondo SS arrive in the final on the back of strong form, having recently won the UMEA Solidarity Games in Mbale.
Their route to the final included a tense semi final victory over defending national champions Buddo SS, decided by a penalty shootout.
Abdul Shakur Babi and Ronald Ssegirinya converted for Buddo, but Kyaddondo goalkeeper Lukyamuzi proved decisive, saving efforts from Zangi Okello and Ibrahim Wayita to seal progression.
Kitende’s path was more straightforward. They dispatched Aidan College Ndejje 3-0 in the semi finals, with Jordan Tugume scoring twice and Denis Kisiriko adding the third.
The third-place playoff in the boys category will see Aidan College Ndejje take on Buddo SS at 10:30 AM.
Six slots from Wakiso are available for the national championships, and Aidan College, Greenlight Islamic Secondary School Nansana, and Madina Islamic have already secured qualification alongside the semi finalists. All will represent the zone at the national finals in Lira in May.
In the girls category, St Noa Girls Zana will meet Rines SS in the final at 12:00 PM, while Boston High Mpala face Light High School Sseguku in the third-place match at 9:00 AM.
All matches will be played at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, with gates opening at 8:00 AM.
