Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho scored as Singida Black Stars cruised to a 5–1 win over Mbeya City in a domestic cup match in Tanzania.
Aucho opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a composed striker’s finish, an uncommon sight from the midfielder whose game is built more on ball-winning than goals.
The early strike set the tone for a dominant performance from Singida, who went on to seal an emphatic victory.
The goal stood out given Aucho’s limited scoring record at international level with the Uganda national team.
He has found the net just twice in 60 appearances, first against Sudan at the CECAFA Cup in 2013 and later against Botswana during the 2016 AFCON qualifiers.
After the match, Aucho acknowledged the moment on social media, posting: “Alhamdulilah for the goal in yesterday’s hustle.”
