Castle Light National Basketball League champions, City Oilers and JKL Lady Dolphins in the men and women divisions, respectively, are edging closer to this year’s finals.
Oilers and Dolphins are already 2-0 up in the five game series against UCU Canons and JT Lady Jaguars, respectively.
Victory at any stage of the remaining three games will see the pair in finals giving them a chance of defending their crowns.
After a 64-59 win in game one on Friday, Oilers defeated UCU 62-55 in yet another game of close margins at Lugogo on Sunday.
On the other hand, Dolphins returned for the second game hungrier, after edging Jaguars 51-48 in game one, they swept their opponents 71-47 in the second game.
Meanwhile, KIU Titans and Rangers levelled the series against Namuwongo Blazers and UCU Lady Canons in the men and women, respectively in the other playoffs of the semifinals.
Nam Blazers won game one 79-61 on Friday before Titans equalled the tie with a four point win, 81-77 on Sunday.
Rangers edged Canons 54-51 in game two after the latter had convincingly won game one 73-44.
Action will resume on Tuesday for game three with Nam Blazers against Titans and Rangers versus Canons.
A day later, City Oilers will face Canons whilst Dolphins will battle Jaguars and victory for Oilers and Dolphins will see them through to the final.
