FUFA President Moses Magogo has heaped praise on KCCA for their innovative season ticket model, urging other Uganda Premier League (UPL) clubs to adopt similar strategies.
Magogo said he isn’t a fan of KCCA but expressed admiration for their approach to fan engagement.
The Kasasiro Boys have announced season tickets prices for the 2024/25 season with tickets priced at UGX 650,000 for VIP and UGX 200,000 for ordinary tickets.
For those renewing their season tickets, the cost is UGX 600,000 for VIP and UGX 180,000 for ordinary. Both categories include a home kit, with the VIP package offering a branded version.
“I commend KCCA for getting this strategy right,” Magogo tweeted. “Please deliver my VIP ticket today. Next time, let us include family packages too. The recruitment should be for families and not fans just like religions do.”
Magogo believes KCCA’s approach is exemplary and has pledged support to other UPL clubs that implement well-structured season ticket plans.
“Whereas I am not a fan of the club, it is my policy to pay for all properly designed season tickets for all the UPL clubs if done right,” Magogo added.
KCCA finished fifth in the 2023/24 Startimes Uganda Premier League season after a very bad start. The club will be looking to challenge for the league title when the 2024/25 season gets underway after the September international break.
