Following the fulltime results from the last group stage game between Simba Queens and PVP Buyenzi, the semifinal match ups of the CECAFA Zonal qualifiers for the CAF Women’s Champions League are now set.
The Tanzanian powerhouse surprisingly drew 2-2 with the Burundi side but that didn’t have much impact of Group B.
A point helped Simba to reclaim top spot from Kawempe Muslim Ladies on seven points whilst the latter finished second with six points.
On the other, hosts CBE Women and Kenya Police finished first and second with maximum and four points, respectively in Group A which climaxed on Thursday.
Therefore, Kawempe will play CBE whereas Simba will tussle it out with Kenya Police in the semifinals set for Monday.
Meanwhile, Hadijah Nandago’s five goals in Kawempe’s 10-0 thumping victory over Djibouti’s FAD ensured that she’s the leading goal scorer so far.
