It was a URA and Mbarara City show in Uganda Cranes Select Teams’ 4-0 victory over Northern Uganda Select.
Both Uganda Premier League teams had two players on the scoresheet apiece in a game played at Booma Playgrounds in Apac District on Thursday.
Mbarara pair of Henry Kitegenyi and captain Joseph Akandwanaho and URA’s duo of Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Moses Aliro netted the four goals.
Kitengenyi opened the scoring a quarter of an hour in the game and it was enough for the visitors to take a narrow 1-0 advantage at halftime.
Five minutes into the second half, Ahimbisibwe doubled the advantage before Akandwanaho stretched the lead in the 53rd minute.
Aliro capped off the scoring with a 57th minute strike in a game of large numbers in terms of attendance with free entrance.
Sam Ssimbwa’s charges will return to Kampala and battle with Kitara in the third-place playoff game of the Super 8 on Sunday, September 1.
