Romeo Beckham, son of football legend David Beckham, has reportedly decided to step away from the sport at the young age of 22.
According to reports from The Sun, Beckham Jr. opted not to renew his contract with Brentford’s youth team, effectively ending his football career.
Following in his father’s footsteps initially seemed like a natural path for Romeo. However, the pressure of living up to such a celebrated name might have played a role in his decision.
Beckham’s career trajectory has been unconventional. After being released by Arsenal’s youth academy in 2015, he briefly pursued tennis before returning to football in 2020 with Inter Miami, his father’s co-owned club in the US.
His final stop was at Brentford, where his football journey now concludes.
The Sun reports that Romeo is now setting his sights on the world of fashion, potentially pursuing a deal with the Parisian fashion house “Safe.”
This move aligns more closely with his mother Victoria Beckham’s successful career in the fashion industry.
