NEC Football Club have announced a significant step forward in its development with the formation of new partnerships and the introduction of new teams.
In a press conference held at the NEC headquarters, the club confirmed a two-year partnership with Uganda Martyrs Women’s Club Rubaga and Ebenezer Soccer Academy.
This strategic alliance is expected to bolster the club’s capabilities and expand its reach within the Ugandan football community.
One of the most notable announcements was the establishment of NEC Women’s Football Club and NEC Junior FC. These new teams represent the club’s commitment to nurturing talent at all levels and providing opportunities for both male and female players.
Engineer Brian Buhanda, the NEC general manager, outlined the club’s ambitious vision for the future.
“Our five-year strategic plan includes owning our home; and progressing steadily,” he stated.
Reflecting on the challenges faced during the previous season, Buhanda acknowledged the need for increased team depth.
To address this issue, the club has recruited over 10 new players, including experienced veterans like Patrick Mayiga, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Amiri Kakoma, and Dickson Niwamanya.
