The Uganda U20 men national football side, the Uganda Hippos, are having a double training session this Thursday at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru as preparations for the AFCON Zonal Qualifiers continue.
The qualifiers will be played between 6th and 20th October in Tanzania and head coach Matia Lule has been boosted by the arrival of defender Anguti Louis who features for Tanzania’s Coastal Union.
However, playmaker Travis Mutyaba is out of the Hippos camp despite training with the side on Wednesday.
NBS Sport has exclusively learnt that Mutyaba is headed to France after terminating his short-lived contract with Egyptian side Zamalek FC and is only waiting for his visa.
The Hippos are expected to play Busoga United in a test match this Friday.
Uganda, who won the trophy in 2022 in Khartoum are placed in Group B alongside South Sudan, Burundi and Ethiopia.
