The Pepsi University Football League (UFL) is set to ignite with an Eastern Uganda derby as Busitema University takes on Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) in a Group A clash. The game will be played today, September 20th at the IUIU grounds in Mbale.
The two teams, along with Nkumba University and ISBAT University, are vying for a spot in the knockout stages.
Busitema University, aiming to break their three-season jinx of failing to advance past the group stages, enters the match with renewed determination.
Coach Abdulnoor Musisi has emphasized the importance of setting high goals and has expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to secure a victory against IUIU.
“We are fully prepared,” Musisi stated. “We know we haven’t given our fans what they deserve. This is now the time to give them what they really deserve.”
IUIU, who narrowly missed the quarterfinals last season, are also eager to make a strong impression.
Coach Harouna Kebba has highlighted the team’s improvement and expressed optimism about their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.
“Our purpose this season is to at least advance to the quarterfinals, and this season I know we can do better,” Kebba added.
The match between Busitema and IUIU promises to be a thrilling encounter, as both teams seek to establish their dominance in Eastern Uganda and secure a place in the next round of the Pepsi UFL.
