Africa’s football governing body issued the updated list following the conclusion of the preliminaries of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup on Sunday.

The Kitende-based club did not participate and the last time they were involved was in the 2022/23 season when they qualified for the Champions League group stages for the first time in the club’s history.

However, Vipers’ ranking points have gradually accumulating due to their ascendancy to helm of Ugandan football boosted by their success in recent years.

Their rivals KCCA have been ranked highest in Uganda for the last couple of years and that is no more according to the latest rankings.

Uganda Cranes striker Steven Mukwala’s Simba and captain Khalid Aucho’s Young Africans are ranked seventh and 13th, respectively in Africa.

Former Cranes captain and goalkeeper Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns are placed fourth while Egyptian giants Al Ahly continue as number one in Africa.
