Proline Director and CAF Instructor Mujib Kasule has said that KCCA’s impressive start to the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season can be traced back to the enhanced coaching knowledge gained by the team during the off-season.
After the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, KCCA players and staff took part in a 2-week long CAF D coaching course.
According to Mujib Kasule, these specialized coaching lessons helped the players understand the game from a different perspective.
Speaking on the Sport This Evening program, Kasule explained that the lessons equipped the players with a deeper understanding of tactical nuances and strategic thinking.
“Now they reason not just like players but also like coaches,” he said. “This helps with the synergies and also makes it easier for coaches to give instructions.”
Under the leadership of Abdallah Mubiru, KCCA have been in excellent form, winning three and drawing one of their opening four matches.
The team’s unbeaten run includes a notable victory over last season’s title contenders, Kitara.
Kasule credited Mubiru’s improved coaching skills for the team’s success, noting that he has become a more mature and experienced tactician.
The Kasasiro Boys will look to continue their winning streak when they host UPDF on October 19th following the international break.
