The first edition of the Corporate Run is set to take place on October 13th in Luzira, to raise funds to support expectant mothers in underserved regions of Uganda.
The event is expected to attract over 1,000 participants from various corporate companies across the country.
Organised by the Corporate Games Organizing Committee, the run will focus on raising funds to purchase Mama Kits for expectant mothers at two selected health centres in Northern and Eastern Uganda.
These kits, which contain essential items for safe deliveries, will help to address the ongoing challenges faced by women in these regions.
According to the Organising Chairperson, Ian Rumanyika, the run has already garnered significant interest, with 500 individuals having registered so far.
“We are thrilled by the overwhelming response to this initiative,” Rumanyika said during a press conference held at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo. “It is clear that corporate companies are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of expectant mothers in Uganda.”
Several prominent corporate companies have already pledged their support to the event, donating generously to the cause.
The Corporate Run will feature a 10km run, a 5km run, and a 2km walk for CEOs.
Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying a day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
