The countdown to the highly anticipated Masaza Cup 2024 finals has begun. Namboole National Stadium will be the epicenter of the action on November 2nd as the tournament’s two top contenders battle it out for the coveted title.
The Masaza Cup, a prestigious football competition that showcases the rich talent of Buganda, has captivated fans throughout the season with its thrilling matches.
With 100 games already played, the excitement is palpable as the semifinals draw to a close. Buweekula, Kyadondo, Buddu, and Kyaggwe are the four teams vying for the grand prize of 12 million UGX.
To ensure a thrilling climax, the organizers have introduced a new rule: there will be no extra time in the final. If the score is level after 90 minutes, the match will be decided by a penalty shootout.
Tickets for the finals are now available, with prices ranging from 20,000 UGX for ordinary tickets to 100,000 UGX for VVIP.
Airtel Uganda has partnered with the organizers to provide a convenient ticketing system for fans.
Buganda Sports Minister Robert Sserwanga urged everyone to attend the finals, emphasizing their significance for the community.
While he couldn’t confirm the presence of His Royal Highness the Kabaka of Buganda, Sserwanga noted that the Kabaka has traditionally been a guest of honor at the finals.
