Gaddafi Football Club recorded their first victory of the 2024/25 FUFA Big League campaign with a 1-0 triumph over Kigezi Home Boyz on Sunday to top the league standings.
The decisive goal came in the 18th minute through forward Yasin Mugume, who found the back of the net after a brilliant setup from Dan Kazibwe on the left wing.
Despite having chances to extend their lead, including a close-range opportunity for Frank Kalanda, Gaddafi’s solitary goal was enough to claim maximum points.
This win takes Gaddafi’s point tally to four, placing them at the summit of the table after a 1-1 draw with Kaaro Karungi in their opening match.
Elsewhere, Busoga United and Kaaro Karungi shared spoils with a 1-1 draw at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe. Ntugasaze dominated Kiyinda Boys with a commanding 3-0 win in Mityana, while MYDA and Calvary also settled for a 1-1 draw in Bukedea.
On Saturday, October 12th, Booma Football Club defeated Blacks Power 1-0 at the Masindi Stadium, with John Wesley Kisakye scoring the only goal of the match.
Buhimba United Saints triumphed 2-0 over Onduparaka, courtesy of a second-half brace from substitute Lucas “Mane” Mola at the Kigaaya Primary School playground in Hoima.
Buhimba now sit second on the log with 3 points, closely followed by Ntungasaze, Kigezi Home Boyz, Booma, Blacks Power and Kiyinda Boys, all with the same number of points as Buhimba.
