Ugandan Duo Selected for FIBA Africa Regional Youth Camp

The Junior Gazelles’ Maxine Anyango and Coach Angela Namiritu have been selected to represent Uganda at the prestigious FIBA Africa Regional Youth Camp 2024 – Women’s Edition in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

The camp, scheduled to take place from October 21-24 at the Palais des Sports, will bring together a select group of top female basketball prospects and coaches from across the African continent.

This is a remarkable achievement for Anyango and Namiritu, as they will have the opportunity to train alongside some of the most talented young players in Africa under the guidance of experienced FIBA and NBA coaches.

The camp will focus on developing individual and team skills, while also promoting essential values such as teamwork, hard work, and commitment.

Anyango has represented Uganda in various competitions including the FIBA 3X3 Africa Cup in 2023 and the FIBA U18 Afrobasket in 2024. She will undoubtedly benefit from the experience at the camp.
