Kitara return to Royals Park Stadium in Butema as they host last season’s fellow title contenders BUL.
The match, scheduled for 4 PM on Friday, October 25, holds significant importance for both teams as they strive to climb the league table.
Kitara and BUL are separated by a mere point, with BUL currently occupying the lower half of the standings. Both teams have faced challenges in their opening matches, with just one win each from their five fixtures.
The Royals come into this encounter following a 1-1 draw with Mbarara City, which snapped a three-match losing streak.
Meanwhile, BUL secured their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win over URA.
Kitara head coach Brian Ssenyondo expressed optimism about his team’s chances, highlighting the positive attitude and character displayed in their recent draw.
“We were happy with the fight and determination shown against Mbarara City,” Ssenyondo said. “We want to build on that performance and secure a win against BUL.”
The match between Kitara and BUL has a history of close contests, with four previous league meetings resulting in two draws, one win for BUL, and no wins for Kitara.
The Royals will be aiming to break this trend and secure their first victory over the Eastern Giants.
A win for Kitara would not only boost their morale but also provide a much-needed boost to their league campaign.
