Mbarara City and KCCA FC have headlined the UPL Fans’ Forum Team of the Week for Match Day 6, with three players each securing spots in the weekly lineup, which is determined by votes from Uganda Premier League fans.

Mbarara City secured a 1-0 victory over Bright Stars at Kavumba Recreation Grounds, thanks to a perfectly placed free-kick from Seiri Arigumaho in the 44th minute.

The team has three players named to the Best Eleven; including Arigumaho, who scored the decisive goal, Francis Odongo and goalkeeper Abdul Kimera, who earned a spot for his impressive shot-stopping that preserved the clean sheet.

KCCA’s lineup contributions come after their 1-0 win over newly-promoted Mbale Heroes.

Bright Anukani, who scored his first goal upon his return to the Kasasiro Boys, James Mubeezi, and Mustafa Mujuzi were selected for their match-winning efforts.

Anukani’s overall performance was pivotal, with several key setups, including a pass to Abubaker Mayanja and another to Mubezi that nearly resulted in goals.

Vipers and Lugazi also made notable contributions, with two players from each team earning spots in the weekly lineup.

Vipers’ attacking midfielder Allan Okello not only secured a place in the Team of the Week but was also named MVP.

Okello’s brace powered Vipers to a 2-1 victory over Police, extending their winning streak to three consecutive games.

He capitalised on a defensive lapse for his first goal in the 9th minute and later sealed the win by slotting in a rebound in the 82nd minute.
