The 2024 Elgon Cup has been rescheduled, with both legs of the tournament postponed by a week.
The annual rugby clash, named after the iconic Mount Elgon located Uganda-Kenya border, and features the two countries, was originally slated to kick off on November 2 in Kampala and conclude on November 9 in Nairobi.
However, the tournament will now commence in Kenya on Saturday, November 9 for the first leg, with Uganda hosting the second leg on November 16.
The Uganda Rugby Union (URU) and Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) confirmed the revised schedule through a joint statement released today.
Following a consultative meeting held on October 26, the unions agreed to the changes in the interest of both teams and stakeholders.
In the statement, both unions thanked fans and stakeholders for their understanding, expressing confidence in delivering a thrilling tournament on the new dates.
