Kitara’s new head coach, Wasswa Bbosa, got off to a rocky start in his tenure as the team suffered a 2-0 defeat to URA at Nakivubo Stadium.
The Tax Collectors capitalized on a sluggish Kitara performance, scoring two goals in the first half.
Sharif Kimbowa opened the scoring in the 41st minute, followed by Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s goal in the 45+2nd minute.
Ahimbisibwe had earlier converted a penalty in the 45th minute after being fouled in the penalty area.
The second half saw another penalty opportunity for URA, this time awarded to Ahimbisibwe after Arthur Kiguddu handled the ball in the box.
However, Ahimbisibwe’s attempt was unsuccessful.
Kitara, who finished fourth last season, have struggled to replicate their form this campaign.
With seven matches played, they have managed just one win, one draw, and five losses.
Under former coach Brian Ssenyondo, the team had a similar record of one win, one draw, and four losses in six matches.
The loss against URA leaves Kitara in 14th position with four points.
Their next fixture is against fellow strugglers Bright Stars at Kavumba Stadium next week. Bright Stars are yet to win a game this season.
