Uganda’s national netball team, the She Cranes, arrived safely in New Zealand ahead of the Fast5 Netball World Series, set to take place on November 9-10.
The team, ranked sixth in the world, will face off against netball powerhouses, including hosts New Zealand, as well as Australia, Jamaica, England, and South Africa, in the highly anticipated competition.
Flagged off by Uganda’s State Minister for Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang on Sunday, the She Cranes are bringing some of Uganda’s top netball talent to the global stage.
The squad, including standouts like Nuba Mary and Kadondi Faridah who recently joined Nottingham Forest, aims to make a strong impact in the unique Fast5 format, known for its fast-paced, high-scoring style.
This format reduces team sizes to five players per side, introducing strategic zones that allow for two- and three-point shots, which promises to bring thrilling, fast-paced action for fans.
Team Uganda:
Players: Nuba Mary, Shadia Nasanga, Kango Christine, Eyaru Irene, Margaret Bagaala, Joice Nakibuule, Nambirige Sandra, Nakiito Christine, Hanisha Muhammad, Kadondi Faridah.

With their international standing just below South Africa in the rankings, the She Cranes are prepared to test their skills against the world’s best, hoping to boost their global profile in the Fast5 tournament.
