Wakiso Giants head coach, Steven Bengo, is growing increasingly concerned about his side’s inability to find the back of the net as they prepare to host Lugazi at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Wednesday.
The Purple Sharks, currently languishing in 12th position in the league table, have endured a four-match winless streak, characterized by a complete goal drought.
“Scoring goals has been our biggest challenge,” Bengo admitted. “We’ve worked tirelessly on our finishing, but we need to translate that into results on the pitch. We won’t change our approach, but we’re confident of a positive outcome.”
Despite the recent struggles, Bengo remains optimistic about securing a victory.
However, he acknowledges the threat posed by a rejuvenated Lugazi side, who have won two of their last three matches.
The visitors, who defeated Wakiso in a pre-season encounter, will be eager to capitalize on their opponents’ defensive vulnerabilities.
Wakiso Giants’ injury woes continue to hinder their progress, with several key players, including Marvin Nyanzi, Herbert Asiimwe, Lawrence Bukenya, Rahmat Ssenfuka, and Alex Komakech, sidelined.
With the Purple Sharks hovering just above the relegation zone, a win against Lugazi is crucial to improve their league position.
The match kicks off at 4:00 PM, with both teams aiming to secure vital points as the season progresses.
