The 26th edition of the Kinyara Golf Open, one of Uganda’s most prestigious annual golf tournaments, is set to tee off on November 21st at the Kinyara Golf Club in Masindi.
The three-day event promises thrilling competition as over 150 golfers vie for top honors, including defending champion Joseph Cwinya-ai.
The Kinyara Golf Open has become a staple on Uganda’s sporting calendar, attracting top golfers from across the country. This year’s tournament is no exception, with a diverse field of both amateur and professional players ready to showcase their skills.
National team captain Joseph Cwinya-ai will be looking to make history by winning his fourth consecutive Kinyara Golf Open title.
Cwinya-ai has been in exceptional form recently, and he will be the favorite to retain his crown. However, he will face stiff competition from a talented field that includes several rising stars.
The Kinyara Golf Open offers a variety of exciting prizes for both amateurs and professionals. The top five finishers in the main gross category will share a prize pool of Ug.Shs 4,000,000, while the winner of the professional category will take home Ug.Shs 10,000,000.
In addition to the cash prizes, there are also a number of other exciting prizes up for grabs, including refrigerators, television sets, and cash. One of the most unique prizes is the hole-in-one challenge on the par-3 seventh hole, where the lucky winner will receive a full ton of sugar.
