The Uganda Premier League (UPL) no longer has an unbeaten team this season following NEC’s narrow 1-0 triumph over KCCA at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Thursday evening.
Muzamiru Mutyaba, a former KCCA stalwart, delivered the decisive blow, scoring the game’s only goal.
The loss marked KCCA’s first defeat of the season, bringing their impressive run to an end.
With matchday nine ongoing, every team in the league has tasted defeat at least once.
KCCA, alongside Vipers and Police, has the least number of losses, with just one defeat each.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Kitara, last season’s standout performer, has struggled significantly, suffering six losses so far, the most of any other team.
Meanwhile, NEC’s victory not only boosts their campaign but also adds intrigue to the title race highlighting the unpredictable nature of the season.
