Vipers and Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder Allan Okello will be aiming to defend his crown in the football category at the November Fortebet Real Stars Awards.
Okello edged out Mbarara City’s Seiri Arigumaho and Kawempe Muslim goalkeeper Josephine Nambuya to win the accolade in October.
The 24-year-old has carried his impressive form into yet another month.
For November, he has been nominated alongside his teammate Milton Karisa and SC Villa’s Charles Lwanga.
His fate will be determined on Tuesday, December 3, at Lazio Restaurant in Kololo.
Okello featured in three games in November, registering one goal and one assist—both coming in a 2-0 victory over URA at the Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on November 22.
He was also part of the Uganda Cranes squad that sealed qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations set to take place in Morocco.
Okello has been a key player in this campaign for the national team.
His teammate, Karisa, also had a notable month, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Karisa’s goals came in a 1-1 draw against KCCA at Kitende on November 9, as well as in the 2-0 victory over URA, where he scored and assisted.
In contrast, SC Villa striker Charles Lwanga had a phenomenal run in November, playing four games and scoring six goals.
He netted a quadruple and a brace in two high-scoring matches, as the Jogoos thrashed UPDF 5-0 and Wakiso Giants 6-1 on November 1 and November 23, respectively, at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
In addition to football, other categories including Rugby, Cricket, and Rally will also be rewarded.
In rugby, the Uganda Lady Cranes clinched a bronze medal at the Women’s Rugby 7s tournament in Ghana.
Standout performers like team captain Peace Lekuru, Grace Auma, and Lydia Namabiro have been nominated for the Real Stars Rugby Award.
For cricket, the Cricket Cranes had an outstanding Challenge League B tournament, finishing at the top of the standings.
Key players like skipper Riazat Ali Shah, Henry Ssenyondo, and Dinesh Nakrani, who were instrumental in the team’s success, have been nominated for the Real Stars Cricket Award.
Meanwhile, in rally, 2024 National Rally Champion Jas Mangat will face competition from Ronald Ssebuguzi and Dr. Moustapha Mukasa for the Real Stars Rally Award.
