West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus continues to make his mark on and off the pitch, switching from his signature black stool to another uniquely crafted stool from Ghana during his goal celebration in the 1-1 draw against Brighton.
The Ghanaian international, who introduced the stool celebration earlier this season, explained the change. “This stool is from Ghana.”
“It’s part of my culture, and I want to keep celebrating in a way that honors my roots,” Kudus shared after the match.
Kudus scored his third Premier League goal of the season in the 58th minute, equalizing Mats Wieffer’s opener for Brighton in the 51st minute.
The stool celebration, inspired by Ghanaian chiefs who traditionally sit on stools, has become Kudus’ way of blending football with his cultural heritage.
The shift to a different stool keeps the celebration fresh while staying true to its origins.
