Kasigwa, a revered figure in Ugandan football, played a pivotal role in the nation’s football history.

He was an integral member of the Uganda Cranes team that embarked on a historic tour of the UK in 1956.

Furthermore, he proudly represented Uganda in their inaugural appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 1962, held in Ethiopia.

In recognition of his immense contributions to Ugandan football, Kasigwa was honored by the FUFA Assembly in 2017 during a gathering in Masindi.

He was bestowed with the prestigious FUFA Presidential Award for his unwavering dedication and exceptional service to the sport.

Just recently, at the 100th FUFA Ordinary General Assembly, Kasigwa conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the FUFA President, delegates, and the entire football fraternity as FUFA officially commenced celebrations marking 100 years of its existence.

“On behalf of FUFA and my own behalf, members of FUFA, delegates, and the secretariat, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Baker Kasigwa, Kitara Region Football Association, Uganda Football Players Association, and the people of Bunyoro on the loss of a legend,” added Magogo.
