Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Micho Sredejovich confirmed a list of 29 players that he has summoned to be in the team to take on Tanzania in the incoming 2023 Afcon qualifiers.
Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala is among those who have been called up following their formidable performance in the Ghana league with Asante Kotoko.
The attacker’s impressive performances in the Ghana Premier League have earned him a place in the squad for the qualifiers.
The former URA forward’s recent performance was against the Hammer Accra Lions, scoring a brace in a game that ended 4-0 in favor of Asante Kotoko.
The 23-year-old forward has so far had 10 appearances for the Uganda Cranes National Team since his debut in 2019.
Ugandan goalkeeper Salim Jamal who plays for Richards Bay in South Africa is also among 29 summoned players as he has been in a good form.
Prior to departing for Bundibugyo for a regional tour game, the squad will report to camp at Crane’s Paradise Hotel in Kisasi on Wednesday of the following week.
On March 19th, the Uganda Crane team’s chosen local players will depart for Egypt, where they will meet up with the foreign-based legion.
Uganda Crane will host Tanzania on the 27th of March at Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Egypt and play they Return league at Dar es Salaam.
