Kobs managed to pull out a win with bonus points as they visited Hippos Rugby Club at Dan Waters Jinja.
Kobs thumped Jinja Hippos 14-29 in a game that seemed like they could have lost judging by the first half’s good play against the Visitors.
Hippos managed to hold the Kobs tight in the first half, beating the visitors 14-10.
Coming into the second half, Kobs denied Jinja Hippos any chance to make a try or even get in a successful conversion.
Kobs Pius Ogena made a hatrick of tries that benefited the Kampala old boys and also kept him as the try top scorer with 16 tries in 11 games.
Byron Oketayot’s try in the right-hand corner sealed the bonus point, keeping the difference between the table leaders and defending champions, the Platinum Credit Heathens, at one point.
Meanwhile, at 10 graveyards, Impis Rugby aced the Rams. in a hotly contested Derby on May 11, giving Impis its 6th win of the season.
At Legends, the Heat couldn’t afford to miss out on the bonus points, as they decently beat the Rhinos 7-31, collecting all five points.
Coming into game week 12, the title race is still hit and tight, and any of the top three teams that messes up could easily be replaced from the top position.
