Arsenal Roar Back to Life with North London Derby Victory

Arsenal reignited their Premier League title hopes with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday.

The Gunners, reeling from recent cup disappointments, started brightly but were stunned by a deflected Son Heung-min goal in the 25th minute.

However, they refused to be deterred and leveled through Gabriel’s header, which deflected off Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke. Leandro Trossard then completed the turnaround shortly afterward.

Despite Tottenham enjoying a period of possession in the second half, Arsenal held firm, showcasing their trademark defensive resilience.

The victory closes the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just four points, although the Reds have a game in hand.

“Very proud of the team, I think we were sensational,” a jubilant Mikel Arteta said after the match. “It was a true test of character after some tough results. We showed courage and a real desire to win.”

Arteta dismissed suggestions that Arsenal were out of the title race.

“We are absolutely in the race. It’s a long season, and every team faces challenges. This result gives us the momentum to push forward,” he said.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou acknowledged his team’s shortcomings.

“Not good enough, especially the first half. We were too passive and allowed Arsenal to dictate the game. There’s no magic cure. We need to work hard and improve,” he said.
