USSSA Launches Sports Administration and Management Course to Boost School Sports

The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has taken a significant step towards enhancing sports administration in the country with the launch of a new Sports Administration and Management course.

This initiative aims to equip key stakeholders within the school sports ecosystem with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage and administer sports programs.

The four-day intensive course will be conducted in five different centers across the country, starting from January 15th.

Key participants include members of the USSSA and Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association Executive Committees, as well as representatives from District School Sports Associations.

The curriculum covers a wide range of essential topics, including:

  • USSSA Regulations: A comprehensive understanding of the rules and guidelines governing school sports in Uganda.
  • Roles and Obligations: Defining the responsibilities and duties of sports administrators at various levels.
  • Event Management: Practical skills in planning, organizing, and executing sporting events efficiently.
  • Administration: Effective management of resources, finances, and human resources within a sports organization.

The course builds upon the success of previous USSSA training programs, including the Sports Facilities Management course conducted at Ndejje University last year.

Course Schedule:

  • Kibuli Secondary School: January 15th – 18th & January 20th – 23rd, 2025
  • Sacred Heart SS Hulu: January 23rd – 26th, 2025
  • Jinja College: January 23rd – 26th, 2025
  • Ntare School: January 26th – 29th, 2025
