Former Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic has taken charge at Al-Merrikh SC, succeeding Giovanni Solinas, the ex-Kaizer Chiefs boss.
The Serbian tactician, who boasts a wealth of experience coaching across Africa, will lead the Sudanese side for the next 18 months, alongside his support team which also includes former SC Villa Head Coach Dusan Stojanovic.
Micho, 54, is remembered for his two stints managing the Ugandan national team, most notably guiding them to their first Africa Cup of Nations qualification in nearly four decades in 2017.
His return to club management marks his first role on the continent since coaching Libya’s national team last year.
Al-Merrikh parted ways with Solinas following a string of poor results and reported disagreements with club executives.
Micho will now aim to steer the club back to winning ways, with his debut match set against Chemal FC this Saturday.
