The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) has announced the National Intermediate Boxing Championships, set to take place at the NCS Arena in Lugogo from January 25th to February 1st, 2025.
This event will serve as a platform for emerging boxing talent from across the nation to showcase their skills and compete for glory.
The championships will commence with weigh-ins and mandatory medical check-ups for all participating boxers on January 25th at 8:00 AM.
Following the medical assessments, the official draws will take place at 2:00 PM, determining the matchups for the preliminary rounds.
From January 27th to 30th, the NCS Arena will witness intense action as the preliminary rounds unfold.
Starting at 8:00 AM daily, boxers will engage in fierce battles, vying for a coveted spot in the finals.
To ensure optimal performance and athlete recovery, a well-deserved rest day is scheduled for January 31st, allowing boxers to rejuvenate and prepare for the climactic finale.
The championship will reach its zenith on February 1st with the finals. The NCS Arena will once again be the stage for thrilling bouts as the best of the best clash for the coveted titles.
Clubs interested in participating in the National Intermediate Boxing Championships can register at a fee of UGX 100,000.
This event serves as a crucial stepping stone for aspiring boxers, as winners in each weight category will earn the right to compete in the highly competitive national open championships.
The national team will ultimately be selected from the pool of exceptional talent showcased throughout these national-level competitions, providing a pathway for Uganda’s most promising boxers to represent their country on the international stage.
