Reports: Manchester United Boss Amorim Snubs Out-of-Favour Rashford

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - NOVEMBER 28: Ruben Amorim, Head Coach of Manchester United, speaks to Marcus Rashford of Manchester United as he prepares to enter the pitch as a substitute during the UEFA Europa League 2024/25 League Phase MD5 match between Manchester United and FK Bodo/Glimt at Old Trafford on November 28, 2024 in Manchester, England. The rift between Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and star striker Marcus Rashford appears to have deepened, with the Portuguese coach seemingly ostracizing the England international.

Amorim confirmed that he only communicates with Rashford when addressing the entire squad, effectively cutting off any individual dialogue.

This comes after Rashford’s limited game time this season, with the forward featuring in just one matchday squad since mid-December and remaining an unused substitute.

The manager’s comments following Sunday’s victory against Fulham further fueled speculation about the breakdown in their relationship.

When asked about Rashford’s potential return to the team, Amorim bluntly stated: “I will put Vital [goalkeeping coach] before I put a player that doesn’t give the maximum every day.”

Rashford, who has publicly expressed a desire for a “new challenge,” is seeking a move away from Old Trafford.

However, with the transfer window nearing its close, his options are dwindling. While a loan move remains the most likely scenario, the forward may be forced to stay at the club if a suitable offer does not materialize.

Meanwhile, local authorities have given the green light to Manchester United’s ambitious plans to redevelop Old Trafford and its surrounding areas.

The centerpiece of the project is a new 100,000-seater stadium, which aims to transform the area into a world-class sporting and entertainment hub.

Councillor Liz Patel, expressing her enthusiasm for the project, stated: “This is a hugely exciting project and working with our partners and private developers, we will be looking to create thousands of new homes, new neighbourhoods and help create a world-class setting for the Manchester United stadium.”
