Former KCCA forward Abubakar Mayanja has penned a heartfelt farewell to the club following his departure at the end of his contract.
In a social media post, the teenage striker expressed gratitude to the club’s management, coaches, fans, teammates, and staff for their support throughout his time at Lugogo.
“As I bid farewell to the club that has been my home, I want to thank KCCA FC management, coaches, fans, teammates, and staff for the incredible honor of being part of my journey and believing in me. Wishing the club the very best in the future,” Mayanja wrote.
The young forward, who signed a minor contract at the start of the 2023/24 season, officially left KCCA FC after turning 18 in December 2024.
While the club had the option to extend his stay, Mayanja opted to move on, marking the end of his time at the Kasasiro Boys.
Mayanja was part of KCCA FC’s youth setup and had been regarded as a promising talent within the club.
His departure adds to the list of mid-season exits, including Ssenoga Kagawa Muhammed, Juma Ibrahim, and South Sudan international Emmanuel Loki, who all left by mutual consent.
