The 2025 Uganda Squash Open is set to bring together over 100 players from across Africa and beyond for an action-packed competition in Tororo.
Scheduled to take place from February 17th to 22nd at the Rock Classic Hotel, the tournament promises high-level squash featuring participants from Uganda, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Rwanda, Pakistan, India, Namibia, and Zambia.
The event will include categories for Juniors, Men, and Women, ensuring a diverse and competitive field. With a prize pool of $6,300 USD, players will have plenty to fight for as they battle for top honors.
Registration fees were set at 50,000 UGX for East African players and 30 USD for international participants, making the tournament widely accessible to squash enthusiasts.
Beyond the competition, the Uganda Squash Open serves as a major platform for promoting the sport in Africa.
The event will be attended by Dr. Millo Lucky, President of the Africa Squash Federation, underscoring the tournament’s significance in regional squash development.
Shifah Nantambi, Secretary General of the Uganda Squash Rackets Association, expressed excitement ahead of the tournament, stating, “We are very ready for the tournament. The preparations have been excellent, and we look forward to hosting players from all over Africa and beyond.”
As the tournament kicks off, all eyes will be on Tororo for a week of intense squash battles, showcasing the sport’s growth and talent across the continent.
