The Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) has postponed the National Pool League fixtures scheduled for February 22 and 23, 2025, to accommodate the Ankole Pool Association (APA) Grand Open Championship.
This decision follows a formal request from the Ankole Pool Association (APA), a regional member body of PAU, which is set to host its annual Grand Open Championship on the same dates.
In an official statement signed by PAU General Secretary Paul Wasike, the association explained that APA had initially scheduled the tournament for February 15 and 16 but was forced to reschedule.
However, the new dates unexpectedly clashed with a revised National League fixture by the PAU Competitions Committee.
“APA formally requested that we postpone the league matches of that weekend to another date to allow them to meet the expectations of their tournament,” the statement read in part.
After reviewing the request, the PAU Competitions Committee agreed to reschedule the affected league matches and will announce new dates in due course.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused,” PAU stated, assuring stakeholders that a revised fixture would be communicated soon.
The APA Grand Open Championship, set to take place at Paul Games in Kijungu Mbarara, is a key event on the regional pool calendar, and attracts top players from across the country.
