Ireland First Division side Kerry Football Club has announced the signing of Uganda Cranes midfielder Carl Mujaguzi, strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.
The Sweden-raised midfielder joins Kerry FC after an impressive spell with First Division rivals Athlone Town, where he made 23 appearances in 2024.
Before moving to Ireland, Mujaguzi played for Swedish sides BK Olympic, Sibbhults IF, IFK Hässleholm, and IFK Malmö. During his time at Athlone Town, he made headlines with a spectacular bicycle kick goal against Kerry FC earlier in the season.
Speaking to club media after signing, Mujaguzi expressed his excitement: “I am honoured to sign for Kerry FC and to be part of a club with such a passionate fan base. Wearing the green jersey is a privilege, and I am fully committed to giving my best on the pitch to contribute to the team’s success. I look forward to this exciting journey and to creating unforgettable moments alongside my teammates and supporters.”
First Team Manager Conor McCarthy highlighted Mujaguzi’s international experience as a key asset for the squad. “We are delighted to welcome Carl to Kerry FC. Having a player who has represented his country at the senior level is a big boost for us. He has shown his quality in training, and I look forward to seeing him in action this season.”
Mujaguzi, 24, made his international debut for Uganda in a 4-0 defeat to Comoros.
