Vipers Sports Club Nigerian forward Abubakar Lawal has passed away following a motorcycle accident along Entebbe Road on Monday.
Lawal, born on September 3, 1995, played as a centre forward and had been part of Vipers since 2022.
This season, he made eight appearances in the Uganda Premier League, though he did not register a goal or assist.
In the previous campaign, he featured in seven matches and scored twice.
Before joining the Ugandan club, Lawal played for AS Kigali in Rwanda and had stints with Nigerian sides Nasarawa United and Wikki Tourists.
His sudden passing is a major loss to Vipers and the football community at large.
