In a powerful display of compassion and community support, the Thx22 Foundation, the charitable arm of 22Bet, has provided vital financial assistance to Martin Nsubuga, better known as Nabutono, who is currently battling a life-threatening case of tetanus.
The generous contribution has brought a renewed sense of hope to both the footballer and his family as they navigate this challenging and uncertain time.
Nsubuga, a footballer, has made his mark in the Buganda Masaza Football Cup, representing Buwekula and Buddu in the prestigious competition.
Known for his skill, passion, and dedication on the field, Nabutono’s health battle has been a heartbreaking turn of events for both his family and fans.
Tetanus, a severe bacterial infection that can cause painful muscle contractions and, in some cases, can be fatal, has put Nabutono in a critical condition.
His treatment requires intensive medical care and substantial financial resources, creating a significant strain on his family, who have been tirelessly caring for him in his time of need.
Thx22 Foundation Stepping In
Recognizing the gravity of the situation and the financial burden it has placed on Nabutono’s family, Thx22 Foundation stepped forward to offer immediate relief.
On February 25th, 2025, the Foundation made a substantial financial contribution of UGX 21 million to help cover the costs of Nabutono’s treatment at Rosewell Children and Women’s Hospital in Kampala.
The Foundation’s involvement came as a beacon of hope, allowing the family to focus more on Nabutono’s recovery and less on the overwhelming medical expenses.
The generous support has not only provided relief but also highlighted the commitment of Thx22 Foundation to making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals facing adversity in Uganda.
Collins Bongomin, the Head of Marketing at 22Bet Uganda, expressed the Foundation’s deep empathy for Nabutono’s situation and its commitment to supporting him and his family.
“At Thx22, we believe that every life is valuable and important. We are deeply moved by Martin’s situation and want to provide immediate support to his family.”
This contribution is meant to alleviate some of their financial burdens so they can focus on what truly matters – Martin’s recovery.
We also encourage other well-wishers to join this cause and help us continue supporting Martin through his recovery journey.”
The event, which took place at Rosewell Hospital, was attended by members of the Nabutono family, including his brother Umar Ssekandi, his wife, and his mother.
The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the Foundation’s support, acknowledging that without this financial help, they would have struggled to manage the growing costs of medical care.
“We are overwhelmed by the support from Thx22 Foundation. It has given us the strength to keep fighting for Martin’s life. We are grateful beyond words.” – Umar Ssekandi, Nabutono’s brother.
Thx22 Foundation’s intervention is not just a one-time act of kindness but part of a broader initiative to inspire others in the community to come together in times of need.
The Foundation’s leadership has called on other well-wishers, businesses, and individuals to contribute toward saving Nabutono’s life and supporting his recovery.
“Every act of kindness counts, and we hope this gesture encourages others to lend their support. Together, we can help save a life and make a lasting difference,” Bongomin encouraged.
