Ogor Secondary School has emerged victorious in the Otuke District Boys’ Football Tournament, showcasing exceptional skill and determination throughout the three-day competition.
The tournament, held at the Adwari SS playground from March 14th to 16th, saw five schools from the district battle it out for the coveted championship title.
Ogor SS proved their dominance by accumulating an impressive 10 points, securing the top position in the tournament.
Their consistent performance and strategic gameplay earned them the district crown.
Orum Secondary School also displayed remarkable teamwork, finishing as the first runner-up with 8 points. Adwari Secondary School followed closely behind, securing the third position with 7 points, demonstrating their prowess on the field.
Otuke Secondary School managed to secure 3 points, while Okwang Secondary School, despite their efforts, concluded the tournament with 0 points.
Nevertheless, all participating teams exhibited commendable sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the event, highlighting the district’s passion for football.
The tournament served as a platform to foster young talent and promote grassroots football development within Otuke District.
The success of the event underscores the commitment of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) to nurturing sporting talent at the school level.
As the top two teams, Ogor SS and Orum SS have earned the privilege to represent Otuke District at the upcoming Lango Zonal qualifiers.
These crucial matches are scheduled to take place from April 7th to 13th at Doctor Obote College. The two schools will be vying for coveted slots to participate in the national tournament, which will be held in Ngora.
The victory of Ogor SS and the strong performance of Orum SS have sparked excitement within the district, with many looking forward to their performance at the zonal level.
