Uganda, currently ranked 39th in the world, will face stiff competition from host nation Côte d’Ivoire (50th), Tunisia (32nd), and Zimbabwe (53rd).

The tournament will be held at the Laurent Pokou Stadium, a facility built for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

For Uganda, this competition presents a major opportunity to assert its place in African women’s rugby.

The Rugby Africa Women’s Cup is part of a broader initiative to strengthen women’s rugby across the continent.

Rugby Africa, under the leadership of President Herbert Mensah, has been working on increasing the competitiveness of the women’s game, particularly in regions like West and East Africa.

With Uganda competing against strong opposition, the tournament promises to be an exciting test of skill and determination.
