The final 22-man squad for the Uganda U17 national team, the Cubs, has safely arrived in Morocco to participate in the TotalEnergies AFCON U17 tournament.
The tournament, scheduled to take place from March 30 to April 19, 2025, will see Uganda vying for glory and a coveted spot in the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Under the guidance of head coach Brian Ssenyondo, the Cubs are set to face formidable opponents in Group A, including hosts Morocco, Tanzania, and Zambia.
The stakes are high, as the top 10 African teams will secure their berths in the global competition.
The Cubs will engage in intensive training sessions and crucial friendly matches to fine-tune their strategies and build team cohesion before their opening match against Morocco at El Bachir Stadium on March 30.

Brian Ssenyondo will spearhead the coaching efforts, supported by assistant coach Ronald Ssali, goalkeeper coach Kenneth Magada, and fitness coach Simoen Massa.
The medical team, comprising Micheal Kamu Gumisiriza and Ivan Kulika, will ensure the players’ well-being throughout the tournament.
