Budo Final Hurdle in Namilyango’s Rugby Schools League Title Defence

The 2025 Central Region Uganda Schools Rugby Association (boys) League is one matchday away from reaching a climax.

This was after conclusion of the semifinals between Namilyango College & Makerere College School and St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) & Kings College Budo.

The matches were played at Namilyango and Kisubi on Sunday evening.

Central Region Boys Schools League Semis Results:

• U-15: Namilyango 83-00 Makerere College
• U-15: SMACK 37-14 Budo

• U-17: Namilyango 90-22 Makerere College
• U-17: SMACK 37-36 Budo

• U-20: Namilyango 107-07 Makerere College
• U-20: SMACK 30- 34 Budo

This is the aggregate score over home & away legs in the semifinals.

Three Namilyango teams will feature in the finals this year.

The junior U-17 and U-15 teams will face double-winning champions SMACK.

The senior U-20 team are targeting a third successive title while their opponent Budo are featuring in their first final in six years.

Central Region Boys Schools League Finals:

• U-15: SMACK v Namilyango
• U-17: SMACK v Namilyango
• U-20: Budo v Namilyango

The schools league final is the pinnacle of age-grade rugby in Uganda and pulls mammoth crowds.

Although yet to be confirmed by the Uganda Schools Rugby Association, the expectation is for these finals to be played on Sunday, March 30, at Makerere University’s The Graveyard rugby pitch.
