Angella Nanyonjo is the new captain of the Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes.
Nanyonjo, with seven international test caps, will lead Uganda at the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup – Division One tournament in San Pedro, Côte d’Ivoire from April 9-20, 2025.
A squad of twenty-eight players was named, including four who have graduated from the U20 national team and twelve switching from the 7s national team.

Uganda will compete against Tunisia, Zimbabwe and hosts Côte d’Ivoire for top spot in the tournament.

• April 11 – 5 p.m.: Uganda v Tunisia
• April 15 – 7 p.m.: Côte d’Ivoire
• April 19 – 3 p.m.: Zimbabwe v Uganda
The winner of this tournament will qualify for the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup in May.
