Vipers SC will face SC Villa in a highly anticipated clash as the quarterfinal draw for the 2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup was conducted today in Kampala’s Industrial Area.

The draw sets the stage for four single-leg matches to be played between April 18 and 22, with semifinal spots on the line in Uganda’s premier knockout football competition.

The meeting between Vipers, three-time Uganda Cup winners, and SC Villa, who boast nine titles, stands out as the marquee fixture of the round.

Both sides have shown strong form heading into the encounter, and the match is expected to attract widespread attention as two of Uganda’s most decorated clubs battle for a place in the final four.

Defending champions Kitara FC have been drawn against BUL FC, a side that announced its intent with a commanding 7-0 win over Total FC in the previous round.

Kitara, who lifted the trophy for the first time last season, will need to be at their best to contain the Jinja-based outfit.

Meanwhile, KCCA FC, record holders with ten Uganda Cup titles, are set to visit Kaaro Karungi FC.

The hosts have emerged as one of the tournament’s surprise packages, having eliminated UPDF with an emphatic 3-0 victory. Despite the daunting task ahead, Kaaro Karungi head coach Richard Makumbi expressed optimism about his team’s chances.

“We respect our opponents, but we are not intimidated by facing KCCA on the pitch,” Makumbi said.

In the other quarterfinal tie, Kataka FC will travel to face Police FC. Kataka booked their spot with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over URA FC, while Police advanced after edging Maroons 1-0 in Luzira.

Kataka’s coach Toldo Awachango Godfrey remained upbeat about his side’s prospects.

“Knockout football is about moments, and we’re ready to seize ours by facing Police FC,” Awachango stated.

With each tie being a single-leg encounter, the quarterfinal stage promises high-stakes action, unpredictable outcomes, and potential giant-killing moments as teams chase a coveted place in the semifinals of the 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
