URA underlined their top-three ambitions with a dominant 4-0 victory over struggling Soltilo Bright Stars in a Uganda Premier League clash at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Wednesday afternoon.
Early pressure from the hosts paid off in the 16th minute when Joseph Ssemujju opened the scoring to set the tone for a one-sided encounter.
Forward Bruno Junior Bunyaga doubled URA’s lead six minutes before the break, finishing off a swift attacking move that left the visitors reeling by halftime.
Bright Stars offered little in response after the restart, and their defensive frailties were exposed once again in the 57th minute when Moses Aliro added a third for the Tax Collectors.
Bunyaga then completed his brace in the final minute of regular time to seal an emphatic result.
The win lifts 39 points while Bright Stars remain second from bottom with 15 points, seven adrift of safety.
The defeat compounds a difficult season for Ian Mutenda’s side, who now face an uphill battle to avoid relegation.
Despite a recent 3-1 win over Police, Bright Stars were unable to carry that momentum into Nakivubo and were outplayed across all departments.
Bright Stars have now failed to beat URA in their last 12 meetings, a run dating back to 2019, and their survival hopes continue to fade with each passing fixture.
