Chelsea Football Club has once again emerged as the highest spender on agents fees among Premier League sides, according to figures released by the Football Association for the period between 2 February 2024 and 3 February 2025.
The London club spent a little over £60 million on intermediary services for men’s team transfers, a figure that, while substantial, marks a decrease from their £75.1 million outlay in the previous year.
The 20 Premier League clubs collectively spent £409.1 million on agents during the reported period, slightly down from the £409.5 million recorded in the prior year. Manchester City followed Chelsea as the second-biggest spender, allocating just over £52 million to agents.
Meanwhile, Manchester United spent £33 million, with Aston Villa (£25 million) and Newcastle (£24.3 million) rounding out the top five. Arsenal (£22.8 million) and Liverpool (£20.8 million) occupied the sixth and seventh spots respectively.
Ipswich Town, promoted to the Premier League during this timeframe, had the lowest expenditure among the top-flight clubs, paying agents just £6.2 million.
In the Championship, Leeds United far outpaced their peers with a spend of £18.8 million on agent fees, as Daniel Farke’s side sought promotion to the Premier League. Burnley ranked a distant second with £5.3 million, as the 24 Championship clubs collectively spent £63.2 million.
Chelsea’s dominance extended to the Women’s Super League, where they spent £622,604 on agents, nearly triple the amount of Manchester City’s £288,628. Combined spending by the 12 WSL clubs amounted to £2.1 million, with Chelsea responsible for 28.6% of the league’s total.
