One of Uganda’s representatives at the CAF Africa Schools Football Championship, St Noa Girls, have arrived safely in Accra, Ghana, ahead of the tournament set to kick off on April 23 and run through to April 26.
The team touched down around 3:00 PM East Africa Time on Saturday afternoon.
The under-15 tournament brings together top school teams from the five CAF regions, the host nation, and the defending champions, with Uganda fielding St Noa Girls in the girls’ category following their triumph at the CECAFA Zonal qualifiers held in Uganda last year.
St Noa becomes only the second Ugandan girls’ school to reach the final tournament, following in the footsteps of Kawempe Muslim SS, who secured bronze in the 2024 edition.
The final draw for the competition is scheduled to take place on Monday April 21 in Ghana.
Uganda’s 20-player squad includes familiar names such as goalkeeper Haira Nabbosa, Cynthia Kirenga, Nabawanuka Belinda Hope, and Tracy Nabalanzi—all of whom were part of last year’s team that competed in Tanzania.
